The Wadden Sea 2nd International Organ Competition will be held in West Jutland, Denmark, January 15 – 23, 2021.
The competition is open to organists of all nationalities under the age of 35 years, i.e. born no earlier than January 15, 1986.
20-24 organists will be selected for participation through an audition round. A set repertoire, recorded by the applicant, should be submitted before or on the last application date, September 1, 2020.
The competition has three rounds that will be performed on three different organs. There will be 12 semi-finalists and three finalists. Those semi-finalists who do not proceed to the final round will be offered to perform a part of their program in a joint concert at a location in the region on the day after the semi-final round.
The Jury comprises internationally acclaimed organists.
Winners will be offered prizes totaling DKK 250.000 (approx. EUR 33.000) and concert engagements.
Competitors have to pay for their own travel to the competition. Local transport during the competition will be taken care of by the organizers.
Competitors will be offered free, private accommodation with local families during the entire competition (subject to availability). Competitors can also stay at a hotel at their own expense.

The application fee is non-refundable unless 1) the competition is cancelled by the organizers or 2) due to COVID-19 related regulations, that prevent the competitor from taking part in the competition.
The competition is being organized by the Danish National Academy of Music.
